Austria

Vienna etc...

These few days we spend in Austria are  the perfect example that sometimes you need to go off the beaten track... we could have stayed in Vienna, but we decided to rent an airbnb/wooden hut on a community farm about 45 minutes outside of the city.  We had no idea what we were really in store for, but what came from it was one of the best experiences of our year. Our hut wasn't more than 2 mattresses (mine on the floor basically under Mik's bed) in a "mobile home" on this farm. There was also a wonderful guy sort of... basically... squatting on the property as well.  We got to know this young Slovakian farmer dude and he invited us to join him in harvesting grapes for wine at a local family's home.  It was so special to be included in this once a yearly family ritual - this tiny vinyard/cellar was over 200 years old!  What a special peek into this tradition. We were very warmly welcomed and had a once in a lifetime experience.  OH and Vienna is pretty cool too :)
