Bulgaria

Spent the night in a monastery, befriended a few sheep herders, explored abandoned towns, and ate lots of grilled meat.  It felt like old Europe and it was great to be on the road again.  We also hit the Black Sea - as far east as we made it on our Euro road trip - and turned around to head back west towards Romania.
